Contract Role – initial engagement 3 months; Brussels, Belgium
The Human Resources directorate of this major multinational organization is using locally developed Microsoft Access applications to extract information from its central personnel database (odbc connection to Oracle). They are seeking an experienced MS Access Programmer/Analyst to assist in creation of a unique central application.
Responsibilities:
As an experienced Programmer/Analyst, you will contribute to consolidating and merging different MS applications into a unique central application to be developed in Access XP and documented.
You will report to management in user departments for pay and allowances and records and information. You will work in close cooperation with the Information and Communication Technology Management directorate to ensure standardization, quality, consistency and accuracy as development progresses.
A background of success in Government, the Military or the Defence industry will have helped prepare you for this role and provided you with a mandatory current security clearance.
Requirements:
· College degree in computer science or related Information Technology fields; or equivalent work experience;
· Be proficient in programming MS Access reports, forms, queries, tables, macros and modules;
· Solid data modelling skills;
· 2 years experience in MS Access 97 and 2 years experience in MS Access XP ;
· Complex data analysis data quality, data management and data manipulation experience;
· Good knowledge of Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL;
· Experience in odbc link to Oracle and/or MS SQL databases;
· Experience in the maintenance, support and documentation of Access applications;
· Experience in debugging applications and especially using Microsoft Access debug features;
· Experience in designing relational databases;
· Must have initiative, drive, and determination in achieving the fixed objectives;
· Self-motivated & ability to work independently;
· Exposure and broad understanding of Human Resources;
· Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
